Fantasy Football Today: Podcast Review

October 25, 2020

Ranked among the top podcasts in its genre, Fantasy Football Today Podcast describes itself as “the only podcast you’ll need to win your league”.  The show is hosted by CBS veteran Adam Aizer with a crew including well-known NFL pundits Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg and Heath Cummings.

Fantasy Football Today is presented in various segments including Start or Sit, Waiver Wire, Buy or Sell and Grade the Trade.  It is interactive by including questions from fans by email and via tweets.  Guests on the show often include current and former NFL players.

Will this show help you win your league?  If you are a fairweather fantasy football participant then maybe.  If you are die-hard like myself then you are already getting your updates in real time to your phone.  You are reading every article on Bleacher Report, ESPN, and RotoWorld long before the same information is provided to you in this podcast.

During a typical 1 hour plus episode, I found there to be a lot of fluff and the same quantity and quality of information could be garnered from the various fantasy football websites in ten minutes.  Given that the show is produced by sports media giant CBS Sports, the production value is of high quality but I still prefer the more analytical approach provided by the FantasyPros football podcast.

All in all, if you love listening to podcasts, don’t have much time to read on the subject, and want to do better in your fantasy football league then I would recommend the Fantasy Football Today podcast.  If you are already getting your updates and analysis in real time, then I advise passing on Fantasy Football Today Podcast and giving a listen to Matthew Berry or Rich Eisen’s podcasts which will provide you with a more unique perspective.
