Now or Never: Podcast Review

November 20, 2019

Airing across Canada every Saturday and Thursday on CBC Radio One, the Now or Never podcast dives deep into the stories of Canadians who are doing awesome things. Hosted by Ify Chiwetelu and Trevor Dineen, their show, which is also available via podcast, has an eclectic selection of episode themes. This is the perfect show for anyone who likes to have a more in depth look into how other people are living their lives. This thought-provoking show is similar to the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” style but with a Canadian twist. No two episode topics are alike and it’s easy to get lost in the stories, which are fascinating, educational and entertaining.

Ify’s background as a stand-up comic, improv performer, and comedy writer adds a certain flair to the show and her brilliance shines through. Trevor, who has a passion for capturing people’s moments, got his start on air as a traffic reporter. As a matter of fact, he was well known for delivering interesting traffic reports. Ify and Trevor’s special chemistry as co-hosts helps to thread together each story and their personalities really bring the show to life.

The guilty pleasure of peering into the lives of our neighbours is satiated with each episode. Every episode features various people who share their own personal stories and experiences that all offer unique perspectives. With topics ranging from ‘How music changed my life,” to “Living a double life,” to “How prepared are you for retirement?” Now or Never may inspire you to make a pivot in your life.
