Work in Progress with Sophia Bush: Podcast Review

November 10, 2019

An actress, activist and advocate for empowering women, Sophia Bush’s podcast Work in Progress explores the fundamental concept that we can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously. Launched in September 2019, her podcast features an impressive line-up of interviews featuring in-depth conversations with: writer, political activist and feminist organizer, Gloria Steinem; comedian and television host Chelsea Handler; former monk and inspirational storyteller Jay Shetty; stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings; Barak Obama’s former head speechwriter Jon Favreau; CNN journalist Lisa Ling, and many more.

Her interviews are in-depth, running on average about one and a half hours long. In many ways, Sophia comes across as an old soul, authentic, curious, and eager to learn. She dives deep into understanding how each individual got to where they are today, challenges they faced both professionally and personally, and what motivates them on their journey forward. Her podcast is a reminder that we are allowed to do many things, make mistakes, and pivot. There is no direct path or end goal. All of our journeys are different.

Sophia’s interview style improves with each episode. There are a lot of great nuggets of wisdom to be gained from the thought leaders and influencers featured on her show.  Definitely give Work in Progress with Sophia Bush a listen.
