Commerce Chef‪s‬: Podcast Review

February 11, 2021

Commerce Chefs, hosted by Tom Collver and Kyle Dutka (founders of top rated D2C creative agency, pb+j), dives into what it takes to create a magical ecommerce brand. It’s an investigative, interview style series where Tom and Kyle will chat with various commerce leaders - and as they say “indefinitely borrow” their wisdom.

Now, I listen to quite a few business podcasts on various topics within entrepreneurship, marketing, communications, commerce, the list goes on. But I have to say that this is probably the first “business” podcast that actually makes me laugh out loud while listening. Even if you’re not a lover of commerce, I promise that this duo will make you continue to come back and listen. Their quirkiness and light-hearted relationship shine through during this series but it’s not overpowering to the point that it takes away from the content.

In addition to some amazing hosts, the actual content of the series is intriguing, informative, and valuable. At the beginning of every episode, Tom and Kyle will discuss a question/thought that they both have around commerce. Once they’ve identified their question/thought, the podcast moves on to feature various guests that all help to provide answers and insights. Throughout the episode you’ll also come across various segments that are both hilarious and informative (two amazing things you want in your podcast).

The last thing that I have to rave about around this series is the sound design. The sound effects, music, and transitions are done incredibly well. It’s subtle but as I listen it all fits perfectly, continuing to hold my attention as the episode continues.

I truly have nothing but good things to say about this podcast. If you’re a commerce lover or someone that just loves tuning in to a quirky and humorous duo, I highly recommend checking out Commerce Chefs.
